Canada's Luke Kirby (Dave) returns to the New York stage following his appearance in Sir Peter Hall's production of Troilus and Cressida at Theatre for a New Audience. Michi Barall (Karen) has been seen at Playwrights Horizons, The Public Theater, Berkeley Rep and La Jolla Playhouse. Performances play WP's home at the Julia Miles Theater, 424 W. Jump/Cut was previously seen in Washington, D.C., in a highly-acclaimed Woolly Mammoth/Theater J co-production. Leigh Silverman directs the play, about an aspiring film director, Paul (played by Thomas Sadoski), his girlfriend Karen (Michi Barall), and his lifelong buddy Dave (Luke Kirby), who "embark on a filmmaking adventure that captures the complications of the human heart and the ethics of ambition." It's billed as "a darkly humorous drama that puts obsessions, betrayals, and Steely Dan into the line of focus."
